Hyper Wear began when high school basketball player Cosmo Raines started training with a weight vest to improve his vertical jump and felt that he could develop a superior product. Cosmo tested his prototypes at the CATZ training center in Austin, Texas. Lead trainer Bill Meyer and his brother Tim Meyer offered the prototypes to elite, professional athletes who offered great feedback and validated Cosmo's belief that the vest would be a hit. With the investment of CATZ Austin owner Dirk Buikema, the Hyper Wear brand has brought the Hyper Vest to market and quickly followed with products like the SandBell sandbag weight and Hyper Precool vest.
